Urban exploration photography (often shortened to UrbEx) involves seeking out man-made structures, often abandoned and left to rot by society, and documenting them in an artistic way. I was first inspired to pursue this topic after learning about the visual artist, Troy Paiva, who pioneered the urbex style, and then implementing some of his ideas into my own work in my 2nd year photography class.
